LAOLU

Laolu’s music journey is defined by his ability to merge his European and West African heritage into a sound that defies dance music boundaries.

Born in Switzerland and raised in Nigeria and France, he grew up surrounded by diverse musical influences, from jazz and soul to Fela Kuti and Björk, sparking his passion for electronic music and production.

His breakthrough came in 2013 with “Sene Kela,” followed by his 2015 remix of Dele Sosimi’s “Too Much Information,” which became a global club hit.

With a solid background including releases on Innervisions, Freude Am Tanzen, Get Physical, Defected, Compost Records, successful collaborations with Mr Raoul K and support from the likes of Dixon and Black Coffee, Laolu stands out with his signature sophisticated, efficient and unmistakably distinct sound.

In July 2024, Laolu launched his own label ‘Siembra’ with 3 songs that feature Nomvula Tshabalala, SeeMeNot & Starving Yet Full.
