A prolific creator since the mid-2010s, Yaya Bey first gained widespread attention with her 2020 full-length Madison Tapes, which propelled her into a record deal with the influential Big Dada label. She continued to build her catalogue with the acclaimed EP The Things I Can’t Take With Me (2021) and her breakthrough album Remember Your North Star (2022), which received critical praise including Pitchfork’s “Best New Music” designation and recognition across major music publications.
Bey’s subsequent releases further expanded her artistic range: the reflective Exodus the North Star EP (2023), the introspective and socially conscious Ten Fold (2024), and do it afraid (2025), a work that embraces joy and resilience while confronting life’s complexities.
